Many Hands
Roles: UX researcher / UI designer/ Coder
Background 09/10/2020
The Covid- 19 global pandemic has changed how people work and interact worldwide. My team and I wanted to focus on creating an app to help. This is a large and daunting topic, so my team and I decided to narrow the focus on how to build community engagement.
THE PROBLEM: ๐ค
During the height of the COVID-19 global pandemic, communities felt disjointed and unconnected.
OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT โ๏ธ
How can we create a path of community engagement for all community members while adhering to health safety protocols?
THE PROCESS
ideation
Now the question was how to engage the community. After individual brainstorming sessions, we brought our ideas together and settled on one of my concepts and applications to help the elderly and those with compromised immune systems get groceries and medications without leaving home.
Research Stage
Design Precedents
Our design precedents included the Amazon shopping app and the Uber Eats app.
User task flows
Final prototype
After creating the task flow map, we could start hard coding the app and making a solid proof of concept. Below is our prototype of the app built with Sketch and the Xcode project in action.
Next Steps / Takeaways
User testing. More user research on UX/UI for users that are 65+.
A wider selection of stores. Option to pick which store you are shopping from and the ability to create different lists for different stores.
Language check. Having a copywriter that would get the language across more clearly.
Guidelines. Create volunteer guidelines.
